See rare Baldwin and EMD diesels on the Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad. E&LS trains travel through the scenic forests and towns of Upper Michigan and Northeastern Wisconsin. The Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad operates on over 320 miles of track to serve this timber and paper producing region. In this video you’ll see plenty of exciting railroad action as the entire system is covered from Ontonagon to Green Bay, from Marinette to Crivitz and via trackage rights over the Wisconsin Central from Escanaba to Pembine.

The E&LS powers their trains with a fascinating and rare fleet of locomotives from EMD and Baldwin, including both switchers and road diesels. You’ll see the connecting railroads of the Wisconsin Central, Chicago & North Western, Green Bay & Western, Fox River Valley and also the Nicolet Badger Northern. Each Plets Express DVD comes with a map and additional information to make it easy and enjoyable to follow along with the program.

Distinctive locomotives working hard in an unspoiled north woods setting … that describes the Escanaba & Lake Superior. The program covers the entire E&LS system in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and, with video shot between 1992 and 1996, several “fallen flag” railroads make appearances along the way. Camerawork is well done, and the narration provides good information about the railroad and the timber and paper producing industries. A nice addition to any collection!

Baldwin action…. not many of those to be found operating in the 1990’s. The Escanaba & Lake Superior served the “tree industry”….. timber and pulp/paper. Other shortlines also make an appearance like the Green Bay & Western to name just one. I really enjoyed this. The narration is well done & informative

Although it doesn’t haul Iron ore, this video is a must have. A big fan of Plets Express as his videos are put together nicely. Plets Expres really did their research on these productions. I recommend any Plets Videos if you like informative Narration and good picture quality.
