Boston, New Haven - Maybrook Line - Shore Line and more
|Conrail's Lines through New England in 1983. Track segments in this 121 page track chart include the Shore Line from New Haven to Boston, the Boston Line from Boston to Niverville (Near Albany), the Hartford Line from New Haven to Springfield and most of the old Maybrook Line (from Beacon and Poughkeepsie through Hopewell Junction to Derby Junction. Also all the lines around Hartford and the industrial lines around Boston and Fitchburg. See the map below for a general idea of what is included, most of the bold lines are included, but not all. A typical track chart page is scanned above. This track chart covers some rare territory including the Shore Line which Conrail ran on via trackage rights. Included is a key to track chart and maintenance symbols, and a vicinity map of the Boston area. |
Much of the trackage has since been turned over completely to commuter lines and some is just abandoned.
This is a photocopy of an original 1983 Conrail track chart. This is from Conrail's first decade and is in the old Penn Central format. 121 pages. 8.5 by 11 in a report cover with a label. A track chart shows every mile of track, including curvature, signals, tunnels, grade, speed, rail type and maintenance. This is a VERY detailed track chart. Every switch, yard, many public roads and all RR interchanges. Remember computer pictures are made small and fuzzy for the quickest loading possible. Your copy is as clean and crisp as the original.
|Railfans and rail historians can find a wealth of information here. Trainz and MSTS users, as well as model railroaders, can use track charts and condensed profiles to make more accurate models of a favorite prototype.|
