The 55 diagrams in this book range form 1936 to 1955 and include New Haven Business cars number 1 and 2. Also included are the New Haven's streamilined cars - from baggage-lounge cars and parlor cars to grill cars and every streamlined car in between. Streamlined observation cars 475 and 476 too!
Diagrams also include older wood cars and cars that have been rebuilt as steel cars. Each diagram has extensive notes that includes dimensions and notes about equipment (air conditioning, etc) and many diagrams include car names for that particular series. |  | | | One diagram is shown above and another below. A close-up of a portion of one diagram is featured above. An index is included. This is a photocopy of an original New Haven diagram book, blown up by 50% for increased readability. The original diagram size is 5 inches by 8 inches with the notes quite small and difficult to read. This is reproduced on legal size paper (8.5x14). By scanning the original at a high resolution and then printing at a larger size, the have quality of the original has been retained and yet the fine notes that appear on each diagram more readable. This diagram book is hole punched and bound in a report cover. | |
