This book is updated to 1967 and includes diagrams for just about every freight car you can think of: box cars, insulated box cars, stock cars, ballast cars, mill gondolas, covered hoppers, open hoppers, Airslides, flat cars, bulk flats, dump cars, tank cars, refrigerator cars and cabooses. Each car type is further broken down by series with many diagrams for each series.
Diagrams in this book are marked as updated at various times from 1945 through 1967. The 148 diagrams are complimented by 70 pages of of index that detail car series and changes by car number in each series. |  | One diagram is shown above and another below. A close-up of a portion of one diagram is featured above. The index is extremely detailed showing equipment assigned to cars and more. This is a photocopy of an original CB&Q diagram book. A few of the older blueprint diagrams were quite washed out. I have worked to bring out the detail in each of those diagrams, but a few remain washed out. All white line blueprints have been digitally converted to black line drawings so all the diagrams in this book are all black line. The original diagram size is 8.5 inches by 3.75 inches. This photocopy is blown up by 25% for increased readability.
Railfans and rail historians can find a wealth of information here. Trainz and MSTS users, as well as model railroaders, can use the diagrams to make more accurate models of a favorite prototype. Diagrams are three-hole punched and placed in a pressboard binder with a label on the front. |
