| | Clinchfield Railroad - lines & mines - 1929 System Map | | 22 x 28 inch Clinchfield system and coal fields map | | | | | Clinchfield Railroad System Map Showing the main line and nearby coal fields | The map features the Clinchfield Railroad from Elkhorn City to Spartanburg - and all connections. The map is titled: Clinchfield Railroad Company - Junction Point Map of North and South Carolina. Also shown are areas of Virginia, West Virginia, George, Kentucky and Tennessee and the coal districts of: Elkhorn, Clinchfield, New River, Tug River, Pocahontas and more.
The dates on the map are 1909 (probably the first map of the C,C&O), 1911, 1913, 1916 (the last expansion) and then a note of x-929 - which may mean a final revision in 1929. If there was a revision in 1929 it was probably just for a name change. Prior to 1925 the railroad was known as the Carolina, Clinchfield and Ohio RR. Following 1925 it was known as the Clinchfield Railroad Company.
