| | Soo Line Passenger Car Diagrams - Diagram Book - 1964 | | 28 diagrams, 29 pages, Additional material | | | | | Soo Line Passenger Car Diagrams Updated to 1962, letters from 1963 and 1965 included | | Diagrams in this Soo Line Passenger Car Diagram Book range from an "Official Car" to coaches to combination cars and sleeping car (see list below). Build dates start at 1911, builders include Pullman, Barney and Smith, St Louis Car Company and more. Notes on most diagrams indicate when numbers from the series were retired and in some cases who they were sold to. | This is a photocopy of an original Soo Line Passenger Car Diagram Book. The index is noted as revised in 1964 and letters to the original holder of this book, included with your copy, are dated 1963 and 1965. The letters deal with renumbering and disposition of passenger cars. Updates to diagrams range from 1937 to 1962. It is obvious that this book had many more diagrams at some point, but that is the nature of these types of books. As cars are sold or go out of service, the corresponding diagram is pulled from the book. This is hole-punched and place in a report cover with a label.
The index shows car numbers and names - including cars that are no longer included in this book (as noted above). Diagrams for cars in this book include: Official Car (Built by the Soo Line in 1958), Combination Passenger and Baggage Cars, Mail, Baggage and Coach Cars, Mail and Express Cars, Baggage Cars, First Class Coaches, Passenger-Caboose, Lounge-Cafe-Tap Car, Dining, Sleeping Car, Tourist Car, and Combination Sleeping-Restaurant-Lounge car.
Railfans and rail historians can find a wealth of information here. Trainz and MSTS users, as well as model railroaders, can use the diagrams to make more accurate models of a favorite prototype.
