We begin our BC Rail adventure at the yard at North Vancouver (with a rebuilt RS18) and work our way along the main line to Prince George.
We get a brief look at the Royal Hudson along Howe Sound, then concentrate on the freights which are mostly led by the C40-8CM cowl units. The scenery is magnificent, especially the Fraser Canyon north of Lillooet, with stunning views of the trains clinging to the mountainside. We find a pair of C-420s switching at Prince George, and take a quick trip to Tacheeda to catch CN handing a coal train over to the electrics. |
